So here is what I'm going to diss to cheer myself up:

It's an ad for Canon again from the 1950s. It was displayed in a newspaper along with all these other advertisements. What better reason do you need to turn the page without looking? For an ad this grey and this boring, they should at least have the brains to pay for a full-page ad. When I first saw it, it looked like a damn projector to me if I ever saw one. But of course it's a bird eye's view of a camera. It has that chunky zoom thingy just like all the old cameras. I like the new digital cameras better - and I'd like them better if they didn't make them so thin and fragile that I fear what would happen if they fell. Coming back to the ad, there is nothing attractive about it- the placing of the text is all wrong, the slogan is not that catchy, the colours are awful and the camera doesn't even look good at that angle. Awful, it's just awful.

What a shot indeed! A shot of a girl and a boy with squinty eyes leaving their teethmarks on watermelons. Who takes watermelons for a picnic anyway? Look at the blurry trees behind the kids... I would never want a camera to take pictures like that! With my experience of Canon cameras, I can bet that this shot must either have been taken with a really lousy camera from another brand or else they added in those blurry trees effect to put the children into focus. This looks like it has been printed from my very own lousy Epson printer which, not surprisingly, came free with my computer. I like the pictures of the cameras though, especially the last one which has a nice slant to it. All I can say to sum this up is, even a smashed watermelon would have looked better than this picnic picture!
I have always always bought Canon cameras. It is like Pampers for diapers, like Microsoft for computers - it is a household name. I remember my school days when I'd made a Canon camera out of a box for art class. No one knew I'd made a camera because it was a last minute decision. So when the teacher told the class that he's going to take a picture, they all posed. They posed for a painted cornflakes box!Tags: canon camera canon+camera ad advert advertisement review
